RPR ART Lab: Four Master Students in Frankfurter AusstellungsHalle

On Thursday, November 8, 2018, the exhibition "RPR ART Lab: Wilhelm Beermann, Ina Gerken, Jonas Maas, Anna Nero" opens at the Frankfurter AusstellungsHalle 1A. The four master students are showing for the first time as a group in Frankfurt and have developed their exhibition especially for the AusstellungsHalle. They know each other from studying together at Kunsthochschule Mainz. Speaker at the opening will be Iris Hasler, a research associate at the Städel Museum. The exhibition will be on display until Sunday, November 11, 2018.

RPR ART accompanies the market entry of young, up-and-coming talents who have completed their studies at the best art academies with internationally acclaimed professors. "With the RPR ART Lab, we give young artists space to develop new contemporary art and to present it to the public.", says Art historian and founder Ruth Polleit Riechert.

Wilhelm Beermann (born in 1985, master student under Professor Thomas Grünfeld at Kunstakademie Düsseldorf) creates paintings that are neither intended to represent a particular time nor a specific space and are very reduced in colour and shape. For his paintings, he uses lacquer and the smooth surface of aluminium.

Ina Gerken (born in 1987, master Student under Professor Katharina Grosse at Kunstakademie Düsseldorf) allows her paintings to evolve during the painting process, working with acrylic paints, polyester canvas, and Japanese paper. In this process, she sees a parallel to human existence: accepting ignorance and trusting that order will emerge.

Jonas Maas (born in 1985, master student under Professor Tomma Abts at Kunstakademie Düsseldorf) combines digital and analogue painting in his work. By means of the struts built into his paintings, protruding beyond the image border, he brings the transition between image and wall into the eye of the beholder in a new way.

Anna Nero (born in 1988, master student under Professor Heribert C. Ottersbach at Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig) alternates between strict geometrical shapes and playful brushstrokes in her works, focussing on with the ambivalence between the systematic and the intuitive.

The exhibition is open until Sunday, November 9 - 11, 2018 from 2 to 5 pm in the AusstellungsHalle, Schulstr. 1A in 60594 Frankfurt.
