New features
Writing/receiving invoices
After writing an invoice the user can now select the number of printed copies and directly book as “paid in cash“.
LibreOffice-Support has been improved and newer versions are now supported, e.g. Kubuntu Linux 12.04 now runs „out of the box“. Owed to a new library to embed OpenOffice/LibreOffice and the work of the LibreOffice-Community the upcoming version 3.6.1 of the Free office-suite will integrate as good as OpenOffice.org.
The probably most important new feature is an assistant for incoming transactions which allows to easily book and balance incoming invoices.
New im- and exports
Contacts can be im- and exported, a new accounting frame ("jes EÜR") is available and a new import format for banking data (german Volksbank online-banking) is available. Import of banking data is important because a large part of the accounting of small and medium enterprises can be done in Gnuaccounting by simply importing banking data and then selecting VAT rate, reference and contra account. So far, Gnuaccounting only supported Moneyplex-, Hibiscus- or Starmoney-import and integrated chipcard based HBCI/FinTS-banking.
Other new features
A list of past transactions can be accessed, this was so far only possible for bookkeeping entries. Managing company assets has been improved and the document scan will now evaluate barcodes.
