On 27 October 2009, Solea AG celebrated the ground-breaking ceremony of the 5.67 MWp Solar Park Köching II. The investor is Terra Mundus Süddeutschland GmbH, a project company managed and advised by by Copex Investment Partners. Solea AG is the general contractor.

The project is located in the municipality of Köching, between Aldersbach and Aidenbach, in the district of Passau. This project is a further milestone in the cooperation between Solea AG and the Copex Group and expands the activities of both groups in southern Germany. The ceremony was attended by the land owner Baron Georg Adam of Aretin, the mayor of Aidenbach, Karl Obermeier, the mayor of Aldersbach, Franz Schwarz, and the management of the named companies and the project developer.

The solar energy power plant covers an area of 15.2 hectares and incorporates 32,400 Solea SM 175 MC modules. The proven fixed mounting structure and the screw foundation is produced by PV-EIWA Systemtechnik GmbH & Co. KG, a sister company of Solea AG. The debt financing is provided by Sparkasse Deggendorf and the Deutsche Kreditbank AG Berlin. The solar facility will be constructed in only two months.

The Solar Park Köching II will produce more than 5,700 Megawatt hours of green electricity per year, which equals the average electricity consumption of nearly 1,425 households of four persons each. The facility will be connected to the grid of E.ON Bayern. The production of solar energy will avoid 5,700 tons of carbon dioxide every year.
