West Byfleet, Surrey – 3 February 2009 - Actinic, the award-winning ecommerce software provider today announces version 2.0 of its entry-level, web-based shopping cart, Actinic Express (www.actinic.co.uk/express). This provides startup web retailers with a quick and cost-effective way to start trading online, enabling them to create and manage their own online shop, all via a web browser. The enhancements include site design, order processing and payment, performance, usability and also marketing features. As a special offer, Actinic Express costs £1.00 for the first month until end April 2009.

Version 2.0 adds eight new themes to provide additional choices for an ecommerce site’s appearance. Themes can be customised with company logos, fonts and colour schemes so that each site has its own identity that reflects the business’ look and feel.

The design options for the product pages have also been enhanced. New layout options include displaying products in multiple columns on a page -- ideal for site owners with an extensive range of products.

New features within order processing include integration with Google Checkout and more flexibility on order filtering.

Amongst its many performance changes, Actinic Express 2.0 now has an improved backend database, page loading and rendering, configuration of product attributes and memory usage.

Marketing functionality now includes the facility to export customer details easily for mailshots and e-mail campaigns. The addition of Google Analytics integration enables tracking and measuring of both visitor behaviour and also web site and marketing campaign performances.

Kate Donald of www.themagpiestore.co.uk says: “We chose Actinic Express as it had consistently good reviews within the industry and was extremely easy to use. We also liked the fact that we could easily upgrade our website as and when our business needed to.”
