(Ajaltoun, Lebanon) 13 July 2009 – Easternpak Ltd. has successfully completed repeat audits for International Good Manufacturing Practice GMP for Corrugated & Solid Board and British Retail Consortium (BRC / IOP) certifications.

Easternpak originally received the certifications during 2007. The corrugated packaging plant in Dammam, Saudi Arabia is also Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point (HACCP) certified and ISO 9001:2000 accredited by CERT/TUV in Germany.

Easternpak General Manager, Pierre Akl, shares,

“We continuously strive to supply hazard-free corrugated packaging to our customers in the food industry in the MENA region, through adopting such management systems. We have also developed Product+ Supplier and Good-to-Great strategies to support our business objectives and provide added-value and distinctive products to our customers”.

Easternpak produces pre-print kraft paper rolls for corrugated converters, as well as corrugated boxes for a range of industries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

GMP standards govern the manufacturing of corrugated packaging and solid board to satisfy hygienic requirements

BRC Global Standards suite of four industry-leading technical standards specify requirements to be met by organizations to enable the production, packaging, storage and distribution of safe food and consumer products.

Established in 1994, Easternpak manufactures recyclable corrugated packaging, boxes, cartons and displays for the processed food industry, agricultural, industrial, chemical and petrochemical, hygiene, pharmaceutical, soap and detergent, as well as promotional industries.

Easternpak pre-prints light-weight recycled paper rolls with water-based inks in up to 6 colors, then coats or lacquers them prior to producing them into sheets.

Based in Dammam, Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, Easternpak has 360 employees.
