Accolades Pour from All over for BITSAA Global Meet BGM2023 at Jaipur

What Kumbh Mela is to millions of Indians, the BITSAA Global Meet BGM is to lakhs of BITSians alumni of the Institution of Eminence Birla Institute of Technology and Science campuses at Pilani, Goa, Hyderabad, and Dubai apart from the seamless Work Integrated Learning Programs. BGM is the largest peaceful congregation of BITSians on earth, during which they unwind and rewind. While millions of devotees reach the Kumbh venue without any invitation, BITSians reach the venue after prescribed registration formalities.

For 2023, organizing team from BITSAA Jaipur had announced that BGM will be held at Jaipur during Jan 6 - 8 2023. The BGM Core Team included Proud to be BITSians Kailash Gupta (1980 Batch) as Chairman, Alok Jain (1978 Batch) as CEO, Ashok Mittal (1976 Batch), Dr Rohit Goyal (1979 Batch), Rajesh Luhadia (1978 Batch), Dr Rakesh Gupta (1976 Batch) and last but not the least the young dynamic with dreamy eyes Rohit Agarwal (2008 Batch) who made the BGM Jaipur better than the best ever.

BITSAA Chairperson Harsh Bhargava (1968 Batch) and CEO - Trustee Sai Prameela Konduru (2011 Batch) added to the muscle of BGM team apart from conveners of various committees Rajendra Nag, Lalit Kumar Jain, Mukesh Singhal, Onkar Bagaria, Manoj Kumar Srivastava, Amit Sheth, Shashank Bansal, Indu Gupta and Co-conveners Nagendra Agarawal, Atul Mishra, Dr Dinesh Kumar, Dr Arun Kumar Poonia, Dean Nattu BR Natarajan, Vijay Singhal and Rajesh Vaish.

On 6th Jan 2023, hundreds of BITSians from India and various parts of the world gathered at the elegant Birla auditorium at Jaipur. The dignitaries who graced the inauguration included Proud to be BITSians Dr CV Ananada Bose Hon'ble Governor of West Bengal, Dr G Ravindra Kumar eminent scientist from TIFR Mumbai apart from Prof Souvik Bhattacharyya Vice Chancellor BITS Pilani and Shri Gulab Kothari Chief editor of Rajasthan Patrika, which is one of the largest circulating newspapers in India.

The opening ceremony had a brain storming session highlighting the vision mission passion on the theme India@2047 brilliantly anchored by Sandy Sandhya Prakash. The first day events included campus connect graced by the Directors of various campuses, out of the ordinary BITSians Zara hat Ke, Mentoring for Startups, Jai Vigyaan jai Anusandhan, White Tigers of Pilani followed by BITSian Cultural nite spearheaded by none other than Atul Mishra the BITSian who breathes music day and night.

The second day events included Udaan, BITSians in Social Arena, Books - Product Launches, Pilani Shark, and Nurturing Leadership apart from the networking and mentoring session. The Udaan Session moderated by Sandhya Prakash included Anita Sakuru, Dr Jubliee Patgiri (Fashion Blogger), Sqn Ldr Supriya Bhosale (Retd), Beauty Queen Nikita Tanwani, Garbage Free India Upasna Kapoor and Preethy Padmanabhan Silicon valley Business Journal Women of Influence Award winner. The second day ended with all BITSians swimming and sinking in the music by the unputdownable timeless ageless Indian Ocean.

BITSians in Medicine included Vijay Khatore and Dr Ravi Muppirala. BITSians who added to various BGM proceedings included Harish Bhat, Mathew Cherian, Dr Rakesh Suri, Akarsh Shroff, Mayur Patnala, Yashveer Singh, Anirudh Mishra, Dr Bichitra Kumar Behura, Jayanta Gopal Borpujari and Terence Alvares. Leadership veterans included Dr Ranjan Kumar Mohapatra, Dinesh Mirchandani, Ashok Mittal and Rajiv Gupta.

After the first two days of BGM 2023, hundreds of BITSians assembled on 8th Jan 2023 at the lush green Rajasthan Polo grounds to watch an exciting Polo match between two teams one named BITS Pilani and the other named BITSoM. They cherished watching the match and relished the hot snacks going around. The valedictory function included felicitation of distinguished alumni, the BGM board members and their spouses, all conveners and Co-conveners of various committees.

The touching moment of the closing ceremony was the honoring of century hitting Prof. R S Vaishvanar who had dedicated his life for teaching at Pilani campus for several decades. BGM 2023 came to an unforgettable end over a sumptuous lunch at the polo ground.

About BITSAA Jaipur: The aim of the BITS Pilani Alumni Association, BITSAA Jaipur Chapter is to stay connected with all the BITSian Alumni from Jaipur & nearby cities which include Ajmer, Kota, Bhilwara Udaipur, Jodhpur and Bikaner. The idea of establishing Birla Institute of Technology and Science Alumni Association BITSAA Jaipur Chapter was conceived in 1995 and was constituted on 04 May 1996.
