Proud BITSian Governor of West Bengal Dr. CV Ananda Bose inaugurates BITSAA Global Meet at Jaipur

What Kumbh Mela is to millions of Indians, the BITSAA Global Meet BGM is to lakhs of BITSians alumni of the Institution of Eminence Birla Institute of Technology and Science are - BITS campuses at Pilani, Goa, Hyderabad, and Dubai apart from the seamless Work Integrated Learning Programs. BGM is the largest peaceful congregation of BITSians on earth, during which they unwind and rewind. While millions of devotees reach the Kumbh venue without any invitation, BITSians reach the venue after prescribed registration formalities. For the year 2023, the organizing team from BITSAA Jaipur had announced that BGM will be held at Jaipur during Jan 6 - 8 2023.

On 6th Jan 2023, hundreds of BITSians from India and various parts of the world gathered at the elegant Birla auditorium at Jaipur. Mr. Kailash Gupta - Chairman, BGM23@Jaipur welcomed the BITSians and the distinguished guests. Prof. Souvik Bhattacharyya, Vice Chancellor of BITS Pilani, gave a warm welcome to all. Distinguished scientist Dr. G Ravindra Kumar from TIFR Mumbai gave a talk on Blue Sky Research (BSR) outlining his vision and mission for India becoming a superpower in science along with Nobel Laureates by 2047.

Mr. Gulab Kothari, chief editor of Rajasthan Patrika, which is one of the largest circulating newspapers in India talked about what he saw in India yesterday, and what he wants to see in India tomorrow.

Hon'ble Governor of West Bengal, Dr. C V Anand Bose, who is also a proud BITSian in his inimitable style talked about his vision for India, in 2047 and wanted ignited minds of youth to go into action. His humorous anecdotes drew thunderous applause throughout his speech.

Mr. Alok Jain from BITSAA Jaipur presented a shawl and Mr. Kailash Gupta presented a colorful peacock memento to all the dignitaries. The inauguration came to an end with the singing of the National Anthem. Ms. Sandhya Prakash (Sandy) anchored the entire proceedings.

About BITSAA Jaipur: The aim of the BITS Pilani Alumni Association, BITSAA Jaipur Chapter is to stay connected with all the BITSian Alumni from Jaipur & nearby cities which include Ajmer, Kota, Bhilwara Udaipur, Jodhpur and Bikaner.
