Live Music Venue Opens in Stuart, Florida for Jazz, Classical, & Cultural Music

If you love jazz, blues, classical and cultural music — you will be pleased to know that you can find these types of musical performances at NOTES, a new business that just opened in Stuart. NOTES features live music four evenings a week, with live jazz every Friday. Located at 872 Colorado Ave., it is the brainchild and dream of music lover, Priscilla Speicher.

“I've always been crazy about music and I love showing people a great time. Being out 3 to 4 nights a week, I had countless conversations with people about what they want to hear — what's missing. I realized many people crave jazz and classical music, and I set out to provide it in the most warm, positive, inviting space that I could create,” explains Priscilla.

NOTES is open from Weds. through Sunday. Every Wednesday evening is Social Night, with a wine tasting available all evening. Thursdays and Saturdays, musicians of various styles perform from 7 till 10 PM. Friday Jazz is held each week, with performances from 7 till 10. And on Sundays, NOTES customers are entertained by Saxophonist David Kupsick or Soft Guitarist Gary Beckett from 4 PM until 7 PM.

“This isn't just background music. The musicians at NOTES are talented performers that make you want to really listen. Basically there are two informal seatings each evening — the first performance from 7 until 8:15 or so, and the second performance from around 8:45 until 10 PM. The response has been wonderful so far,” Priscilla exclaims.

Because NOTES does not sell food and profitability is limited, there is a minimal charge for live entertainment — just one dollar per person. A higher amount of course is gladly accepted, and those wanting to truly support the ongoing hiring of quality musicians can contribute to the Music Wall -- just ask for details. NOTES serves fine wines, craft and other beers, coffee and other non-alcoholic beverages.

From 4:30 PM till 6:30 PM, customers can enjoy a $5 Wine Tasting, with optional table games to play. Wine Hour is every night from 9:30 to 10:30, when a;; bottled wines are $3 Off.

“NOTES is not just a bar. It is a living room, a home, where people can relax and enjoy the camaraderie of being around others who appreciate the music as much as they do. It is a mini cultural center where a true effort is made to hire performers who provide unusual, uncommon types of music — performers who don’t get frequent gigs, due to their less mainstream repertoire. The art of local artists is featured on the walls, and each quarter a donation is made to a local charity based on sales and customer support. There really is no place like this anywhere in Martin County, and people are already loving it!”
