Objective IT update web portal for long-standing development client Gainsmore

Press release from: Objective IT

After creating an initial portal for retail giant Gainsmore over a decade ago, Objective IT recently updated the web platform, giving it a fresh, new modern look with the use of CSS and HTML 5.

Gainsmore is a portal for independent retailers to review supplier offerings, content suppliers or pay for repeat supply of goods for re-sale. Gainsmore boasts over 1,000 members from across the country, giving the company a truly national presence.

Objective IT initially created a portal for the firm back in 2007 when Managing Director Patrick Walkington noticed a gap in the market for independent retailers to review supplier product lists and special offers, contact suppliers, and pay for goods.

Nearly ten years on, the development company were asked to breathe fresh life into the portal by making use of the latest technology. The new look uses the existing Gainsmore logo and colour scheme yet introduces a cleaner, wider design; developers also opted for a new font in order to create a much more contemporary appearance.

The portal is responsively designed using HTML5. This means busy retailers and suppliers can now use the portal effectively from their tablets and smartphones.

The old window controls have been updated to Telerik controls, enabling Gainsmore to upload and edit text in the back end of the portal, as well as being able to design or edit HTML with the help of a handy preview option.

Patrick has great praise for the development team.

“The people at Objective remain friendly, efficient and responsive, even after nearly a decade of working together,” he says. “I am really pleased that we are still enjoying a strong working relationship ten years after I made the initial enquiry.”

Rob Galley, Development Director at Objective, is delighted that the client has returned to the company for an upgrade.

“It is great to see that our portal is still providing excellent value to Gainsmore,” he says.

“As always, Patrick is a pleasure to work with and we hope Gainsmore’s customers enjoy the new look, along with the newfound ability to use the portal more effectively on mobile and tablets”.
