Crawford's journey as an artist began in an unconventional way, drawing on the walls of her childhood bedroom. "Believe it or not, my mom let me draw on my bedroom walls when I was a kid, which is not very common for parents to do. But it was a great outlet for me, and started a lifelong appreciation for art," Crawford recalled. Despite growing up in an era when pursuing art as a career wasn't widely encouraged, Crawford followed her passion. She first started working with chalk in her early twenties, creating chalkboards for local breweries. "I've done thousands of chalkboards in the past 10 years, and that's what I do full-time now," Crawford said.
