Press release from: Nordica Canada

/ PR Agency: Groupe CK7
(Montreal, Quebec) January 2008 – The season is off to a passionate start at Nordica, with two new models for backcountry enthusiasts: the Jah Love and the Zero. And for those seeking a solution that brings together on and off-piste skiing, the new Hot Rod HellDiver answers the call. In the Front Racer ski category, the Spitfire Pro joins the already acclaimed Dobermann Spitfire, much to the excitement of precision skiers. Women also score big this season, with the addition of the XBi CT system to the Olympia Speed model and the official launch of the Firefox, the women’s version of the Spitfire.

The new arrivals in this year’s collection include:

Jah Love (Side cut 167-140-157) The widest ski on the market.
These skis are so close to heaven you’ll feel as light as an angel on them. With the Jah Love, you’ll experience the height of epic skiing. With a 140 mm waist, 167 mm tip, 157 mm tail and wood construction, these skis are built to float, regardless of the depth of powder you’re on. And with a jaw-dropping, Rasta-inspired reggae look, you’ll want to dance your way down the hill.

Zero (Side cut 130-104-130)
The Zero is a twin tip ski built for the backcountry, new school skier. In a stark departure from current trends, this ski has no camber; it is completely flat, thus eliminating the dead time when stopping in snow and maximizing performance for high altitude addicts. The Zero has been designed purely to satisfy the needs of Nordica’s athletes who are pushing the limits of progressive skiing. Its symmetrical design allows for performance needed skiing switch with a perfect tip and tail shape to stomp difficult landings in soft snow.

Hot Rod HellDiver XBi CT (Side cut 132-90-118)
This is a ski that leaves you ready for anything. The carbon version of the HotRod Hellcat (titanium), it has been designed for all-mountain skiers looking for versatility, stability and just a dash of insanity. The new version is easier to manoeuvre over difficult terrain.

Dobermann Spitfire Pro.
A true revolution in the philosophy of high-performance skis, with its combination of two side cuts and a round rather than oval radius, the Spitfire burst onto the market last season. The Spitfire Pro is a version that offers a higher degree of rigidity than the regular model, with a wood core that impresses its master, while obeying the skier’s every move. It remains one of the lightest skis on the market, and all lengths are designed for a 12 to 15.5 metre radius.
Firefox
The women’s version of the Spitfire, introduced following a strong demand by consumers, the Firefox was officially launched this season.

Nordica technology spells performance: XBi CT and NFS
The integrated X Balance system (XBi), which offers seasoned skiers greater rigidity and precision, was introduced last season. Its lighter, quick adjustment formula, the XBi CT (Central Table), has since been integrated into all of Nordica’s performance skis.

Sportmachine, a new line of performance boot, has also been introduced, offering Nordica’s Natural Foot Stance (NFS) technology, adapting to the natural position of the foot, which is not completely straight. This technology provides enhanced turn initiation with stronger edge grip and better ski control throughout the entire turn. Initially developed for racers, the consumer version is slightly less angular; with the heel still used as a pivot point, the NFS veers the foot towards the outside edge.

And finally, the colourful and distinctive look of Nordica’s ski and boot collections will surprise and delight skiers with their audacity, bold choice of colours, and unique identity.
