She is a certified psycholinguistic hypnotherapist, an erstwhile potter, and a graduate teacher from Homerton College, Cambridge. Giffen delights in the beauty of dawns and dancing, the creativity of painting in oils, and the freedom of riding her electric-assisted bicycle. She collects witty fridge magnets, reluctantly cooks, and joyfully walks her dog, Tommy, on the picturesque beaches and trails of Nova Scotia, where she resides. Having moved from Salt Spring Island to be closer to family, Giffen now enjoys a hedonistic life, writing and painting with her faithful companion by her side.
