The EOD Warrior Foundation will hold its annual Memorial Weekend on May 6-7, 2016. The weekend will feature several events with all funds raised going to support the foundation’s mission of helping EOD warriors and their family members. The weekend events will include a golf tournament, auction, ceremony, and ball, where the Keynote Speaker will be Lt Col Oliver North, USMC (Ret).

“Our annual memorial weekend is a time for remembering and for coming together,” explains Nicole Motsek, executive director of the EOD Warrior Foundation. “It’s a great way for people to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, while supporting our very important mission. In contrast to the somberness of the Memorial Ceremony Saturday morning, there are times for smiles, at events like the golf tournament at the Eglin Golf Course, dancing at the ball, and catching up with old friends while bidding on amazing auction items.”

The EOD Memorial Weekend will include:

· The 9th Annual EOD Warrior Foundation Golf Tournament, will be held on Friday, May 6, 2016 at the Eglin Golf Course, located at 1527 Fairway Drive in Niceville, Fla. Check in for the event opens at 7:30 a.m., with a shotgun start scheduled for 8:30 a.m. The Eglin Golf Course is a U.S. Air Force golf course and is comprised of two championship courses, and newly renovated greens. The golf course was built in 1923, and in 1942 the Army took it over, laying the foundation for it to become a military course. Registration for the tournament is $70 per person, which covers the cart and green fees, range balls, prizes, and a BBQ lunch.

· The EOD Auction will be held on May 6, 2016 at the Emerald Coast Convention Center, located at 1250 Miracle Strip Parkway SE in Fort Walton Beach, Fla. Doors open at 5:00 pm. The live auction includes a pizza dinner and a cash bar.

· EOD Memorial Ceremony, will be held on May 7, 2016 at NAVSCOLEOD, located on Range Road in Niceville, Fla. The ceremony will begin at 9:00 am. This ceremony honors EOD Warriors who died as the result of carrying out an EOD mission. There are currently 314 Fallen EOD Warriors on the EOD Memorial Wall and seven more will be added at this year’s ceremony.

· The 48th Annual EOD Ball, will be held on May 7, 2016 at the Emerald Coast Convention Center, located at 1250 Miracle Strip Parkway SE in Fort Walton Beach, Fla. Doors open at 5:15 pm. LtCol Oliver North, USMC (Ret) will be the Keynote Speaker. Tickets for the ball are $75 per person.

“Whether you are a business that wants to support EOD warriors or someone who loves golfing, dancing, or checking out an auction, there are opportunities for both to get involved in this great event,” added Motsek. “We look forward to this annual tradition of remembering, that we share with the community and all that it does for supporting EOD Warriors and families around the world.”

The foundation is currently offering sponsorship opportunities for the golf tournament, that include a $1,500 corporate sponsor, $1,000 business sponsor, $500 company sponsor, $300 hole sponsor or $100 marketing sponsor. A sponsor board will be present for the duration of the golf tournament and visible to all participants. Sponsorships are also available for the ball, including a $25,000 title sponsorship, as well as $10,000, $5,000, and $1,000 sponsorship levels. Each sponsorship level comes with a package that includes a corporate table, ball tickets, and more.

The EOD Warrior Foundation is a nonprofit organization that helps military EOD personnel and veterans and their families. Many EOD personnel come home with debilitating injuries, including lost limbs, blindness, paralysis, traumatic brain injuries (TBI), burns, and the invisible wounds of war, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
