Legal initiative raises Polish wind industry’s expectations

The German engineering consultant BBB Umwelttechnik GmbH (BBB) will be attending the Polish Wind Energy Trade Fair PWEA in Narvil Hotel in Serock from 27 to 28 May 2014. BBB invites all interested parties to come to booth 16D and discuss how BBB can contribute to a successful further development of their projects. The services offered reach from LiDAR wind measurements and expert opinions, like bankable wind assessments or sound and shadow flicker analysis, to engineering services and technical project assessments (due diligence).

The Polish market has got a huge potential in the area of wind energy. Currently less than ten percent of the required electricity is covered by renewable energy sources. Wind energy - besides hydropower – already now has got the biggest share of that. But to comply with the EU climate targets Poland needs to increase the part of clean energy to 15 percent until 2020.

Currently the prospects are favorable: In April 2014 Polish government has adopted a long awaited draft law to support renewable energies, which ensures investors the necessary planning certainty and provide incentives for action. If the further legislative procedure runs successfully, a fixed feed-in remuneration for Polish wind energy projects will be granted for a period of 15 years.

Company information:
Since 1996 BBB provides technical consulting services for the wind industry. BBB's engineers offer planning and engineering services all along the wind energy process-chain: from wind measurements and feasibility studies to construction supervision and the commissioning of the wind farm. Furthermore BBB has a considerable track record of technical due diligence provided on onshore as well as offshore projects.

BBB Umwelttechnik is accredited for the elaboration of bankable wind and yield assessment reports and the execution of high-quality wind measurements (ISO/IEC17025:2005).
