BPA Platform Integrates SAP Business One, Intercompany Databases and Websites for Taoglas

Press release from: Codeless Platforms

Codeless Platforms today revealed that Taoglas, a global provider of advanced technology and IoT solutions, has successfully integrated SAP Business One with its business applications and websites using BPA Platform, as well as reduced the project development time to sync data between its intercompany databases from months to weeks using Codeless Platforms' pre-built intercompany solution. The business is now planning on integrating its Siemens PLM and HubSpot CRM with SAP Business One.

"When I joined Taoglas the company did not have a middleware platform. There was some bespoke software from a former partner, which needed a lot of maintenance and daily housekeeping. As a result, one of the key things for us was that we needed to replace that existing software with a solution to integrate with our SAP Business One ERP system and other business enterprise applications," explained David Kelly, Head of ERP Applications, Taoglas.

"We finally decided on BPA Platform. We created a decision matrix based on our requirements and BPA Platform came out on top of that pile. Our SAP partners also helped us with that decision process, but it was the fact that BPA Platform is a global product and has support from the wider SAP community. We feel we made the right choice."

"We're using it for back-to-back transactions - automating the sales order entry from one database to another, and also automating the goods receipts, delivery notes and sales invoices from one database to another."

Having selected BPA Platform for SAP Business One integration, Taoglas quickly realised BPA Platform's potential for other projects. In fact, the list is quite long.

"We also had an intercompany project that we wanted to develop. We soon realised that we could use BPA Platform as the basis for that project as it also has an intercompany module. We've taken that as a base version and modified it to our own internal processes," said David Kelly.

"We're now using BPA Platform to synchronise the data between the three different regions NASAC, EMEA, APAC, and we plan to sync the data between the different databases, such as currency synchronisation and master item synchronisation."

"We're also using BPA Platform to connect our external facing website, which is also multi regional, to process our sales orders through the front end to SAP Business One. Our website is a bespoke in-house partner development because we use a product configurator that is built in to help configure our products and website."

BPA Platform has exceeded original expectations for Taoglas, reducing the rollout time of the initial project by a significant amount of time, thus enabling the company to explore and implement even more projects.

"BPA Platform is something I wish I discovered 10 years ago, to be perfectly honest. It was proven off-the-shelf and was quite easy to roll out. It's not overly expensive. In fact, it's very economical for what we're getting out of it," enthused David Kelly.

"If I had to start from inception, to deliver the intercompany solution would easily take me six to twelve months to deliver. We actually turned it around in probably four to five weeks. We went quickly from definition scope to statement of work, to basically testing to production - we started at the end of November and we went live on the second week of January."

"The fact that BPA Platform had a pre-built intercompany solution was a sort of a win-win, and the fact that we can take it and customise it for our own internal use was a great start. We knew we had something that worked, and then we could build on."

Having already completed numerous projects in a relatively short space of time, Taoglas is already planning the next steps, including CRM, PLM integration and an SAP migration.

"CRM wasn't on the table last November, but it is now. We know there's a HubSpot integrator there straight off the shelf, so we're now looking to use BPA Platform as part of our rollout of HubSpot. We're integrating HubSpot into SAP Business One, and looking to include CPQ (configure, price, quote) data," revealed David Kelly.

"We're also working on our PLM tool, which is from Siemens, and looking to use BPA Platform to pass data back and forward in terms of our Item Master Control, as well as planning on an SAP migration as well."
