Ditzingen (Germany), September 24, 2012 – On October 1, 2012 Dr. Eckhard Meiners will take over as Chief Executive Officer of the medical technology company TRUMPF Medical Systems.

The 51-year-old has worked at TRUMPF since 2000. From 2000 to 2003 he headed the Sales and Marketing Departments at TRUMPF Lasertechnik GmbH, and starting in 2003 was the Manager of Export Sales for TRUMPF Laser- und Systemtechnik GmbH. In 2006 he took over as General Manager of TRUMPF Laser Marking Systems AG in Grüsch, Switzerland.

Meiners studied Space and Aerodynamics at Stuttgart University and completed a PhD. Before joining TRUMPF he was Head of R&D at Wetzel Processing Group in Grenzach-Wyhlen, Germany, from 1994 to 1999.

As Chief Executive Officer of TRUMPF Medizin Systeme GmbH + Co. KG, Meiners will be responsible for Sales/Service, Finance/Controlling and Human Resources. Purchasing, Research/Development and Production have been overseen by Technical Director Dr. Klaus Frank since 2010. Harald Völker, board member of the TRUMPF Group holding company, remains Head of the Medical Technology Division.
