Exclusive Dinner At Hyatt Regency Chicago Comes Up Big For Charity
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (June 19, 2012) – A large and hungry crowd turned out for an exclusive dinner at Hyatt Regency Chicago on Friday night, June 1 for two worthy causes— The Food Revolution in Los Angeles and local non-profit Purple Asparagus.
“Dinner for Food Revolution & Purple Asparagus” was coordinated by Chicago-based Johanna M. Cook, who, as Momma Cuisine, shows busy parents how to prepare delicious and nutritious meals using simple ingredients and basic cooking techniques. A staunch advocate of Food Revolution, which seeks to save America’s health by changing the way people eat, Cook also wanted to raise much-need funds for a local organization committed to the same ideals. She chose Purple Asparagus.
Hyatt Regency Chicago donated the space as well as the entire dinner, which featured a delectable meal starting with mouthwatering items such as roasted butternut squash, followed by port wine risotto, hanger steak with roasted fingerling potatoes and topped off with a tart dessert treat. The event, whose proceeds were split evenly between Food Revolution and Purple Asparagus, is a reflection of Hyatt’s recent food and beverage program known as “Food. Thoughtfully Sourced. Carefully Served.” This global philosophy focuses on sourcing and providing healthy options that are good for Hyatt guests and associates, good for the planet, and good for local communities.
