Announcing todays launch of startup set to disrupt traditional academia & transform humanitarian aid
For immediate release: 24/2/2021Acume (UK) will transform how academic research is accessed and used by NGOs and government departments by making it easy to access and quick to digest.
New tech startup, led by a female CEO, is on the mission to democratise, diversify, and decolonise knowledge. Acume ambitiously aims to make academic insight available for all professionals, in order to drive meaningful change across the international affairs and development sector.
Acume will remove elitist and outdated barriers for accessing academic knowledge. Set on endorsing local academics role, Acume wants to make locally produced and community-tailored insights available for easy implementation by the international community. By bringing experts and representatives from local communities into the decision-making process, professionals can access contextual insights to increase sustainable impact for the world’s most vulnerable communities.
Acume is building a new platform for professionals to quickly find and read research, which can then be easily implemented across important decisions, projects and policy. Academic insights were not readily available to professionals because they’re complex, locked-away, expensive and time-intensive to read. Acume solves this with a database of concise, translated and action-orientated academic insights.
