Terminating Twitter API Integrations

Thexyz Inc, the leading private email service that protects people and their data announces that a Twitter authentication apps developed by Thexyz will be discontinued and no longer supported.
Thexyz focuses on security, privacy, freedom, and an open internet that respects the rights of individuals. It is a goal to work with organizations that share these values and discontinue support for services that do not.
Thexyz has developed applications that allow users to login using a Twitter account. Due to a recent discovery of security and communication concerns with Twitter, Thexyz will be discontinuing support for all third-party Twitter applications on November 10th, 2020.
Twitter applications have been used on thexyz.com for logging into the client area, as well as thousands of other third-party websites and apps developed by Thexyz. Many websites that use Twitter, have been finding accounts suspended without reason. Thexyz too has experienced Twitter suspensions with our GroupList.io service, Email Block List, and system status notification apps. Reliability and open communication is paramount to login service and since we cannot guarantee reliability when using Twitter API, we have no choice but to terminate Twitter API.
“When security and open communication is not taken seriously, it poses a significant risk for people that use the Internet,” says Ryan Woods of Thexyz.
Organizations that use Twitter API applications should advise users that Twitter is no longer a stable platform for secure logins.
• Users will no longer be able to log in to WordPress sites, cPanel accounts or other third-party services using Twitter
• Embedded tweets will no longer be used, in favor of screenshots
• Replies on Twitter will be delayed as we encourage more reliable methods of communication
• Company Twitter accounts are being deactivated
Thexyz security teams have been trying to reach Twitter support and security teams for several months without success.
