New York Coin ( https://nycoin.net ) – is a decentralized digital currency created by an unknown developer or group of developers and released as open-source code in 2014. It does not rely on a central server to process transactions or store funds. New York Coin (NYC) is a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency and open-source software project released under the MIT/X11 license. Creation and transfer of coins is based on an open source cryptographic protocol and is not managed by any centralized authority. New York Coin was an early Litecoin fork; altcoin. In technical details, New York Coin is nearly identical to Litecoin but with 5 times faster transaction confirmations, no fees to send or receive funds worldwide and low difficulty, sustainable mining built into the code.

New York Coin was released via open-source code published at GitHub on March 6th, 2014. New York Coin had a similar beginning as Bitcoin, with an anonymous developer that literally disappeared at launch and remains unidentified to date. It was a fork of the Litecoin Core client, differing primarily by having a decreased block generation time (30 seconds), eliminating fees to send or receive funds on the network, and more energy-efficient mining.

Due to the original developer(s) disappearing at launch in March 2014, early cryptocurrency miners and enthusiasts kept the network alive and healthy during New York Coin's infancy. Charlie Kartchner, an early scrypt miner and cryptocurrency supporter, created the website newyorkco.in in March 2014 to ensure accurate coin data, block explorers, wallets and mining pools were all published and easily accessible. And also got New York Coin (NYC) added to Coinmarketcap in early 2014. New York Coin was launched shortly after New York regulators announced they were prosecuting BitInstant founder, Charlie Shrem in early 2014. NYC was launched 6 months before the death of Hal Finney, recipient of the first Bitcoin and member of the legendary Cypherpunks.

During 2017-2018, the aggregate value of New York Coin experienced massive growth which included a 10-fold leap within days and reached a market capitalization of $125 Million USD ($0.0012/NYC) in January 2018. Year-over-year returns for NewYorkCoin were over 300,000%. An active development team subsequently joined New York Coin in early 2018 and have since updated the source code, core wallets and stability of the network.

New York Coin is an extremely fast cryptocurrency with transfer speeds rivaling Ethereum. Unconfirmed transactions occur in under one second on the NYC network and fully confirm every 30-seconds. NYC enables a lightning-fast, free worldwide money transfer system. As well as a no cost merchant services platform available to retailers worldwide. Acceptance is very simple and user-friendly. Any merchant can download Coinomi mobile wallet, print out their NYC wallet QR code and display it for customers to easily pay using their smartphone. NYCoin has been steadily gaining traction as a retail crypto worldwide.

At the beginning of July 2020, STEX ( https://stex.com ) integrated NYC/USDT and trading volume almost immediately began to soar. Starting from an average daily trading volume of a few hundred dollars and quickly climbing to over $40,000 USD daily trading volume, and steadily climbing, within just one week. New York Coin's retail specs and usability as a lightning-fast, no fee worldwide remittance network seems to have caught some attention. If you have a strong risk-tolerance and want to roll-the-dice in the altcoin arena, NewYorkCoin deserves a closer look. New York Coin's tiny market cap could realistically provide investment returns that rival early Bitcoin investment. It might be a good time to grab some NewYorkCoin.
