Press release from: Nadrich & Cohen LLP

Los Angeles, CA, January 24, 2012 – National law firm Nadrich & Cohen LLP would like to clarify previous statements regarding the pending Actos bladder cancer litigation.

Earlier press releases included incorrect information regarding the total number of Actos lawsuits filed against the drug’s manufacturer, Takeda Pharmaceuticals. Those releases, based on media reports, estimated the number of lawsuits filed in state and federal courts nationwide in connection with Actos numbered in the thousands. According to a Takeda representative, less than 200 Actos lawsuits have been filed in the U.S.

It was also incorrectly reported that Actos bladder cancer cases were pending in the United Kingdom. Takeda Pharmaceuticals asserts that no lawsuits have been filed in connection with Actos in the U.K. The company is currently facing a class action Actos lawsuit in Canada which names Eli Lilly as a co-defendant.
