SIR Construction Award Winners Announced

David Kronsteiner of West Coast Contractors to Receive Award

PORTLAND, OR. – Oct. 24, 2011 David Kronsteiner, president and CEO of West Coast Contractors, will be presented the prestigious SIR award by Associated General Contractors (AGC) November 12 at the Montgomery Park in Portland, OR. The SIR award (Skill, Integrity and Responsibilities) is one of the highest honors in the construction industry in the Northwest and acknowledges individuals, organizations and agencies in Oregon and Southwest Washington for their exceptional performance and production.

Kronsteiner is being recognized for his contributions, loyalty and hard work in the construction industry. Under his leadership, West Coast Contractors has tackled challenging construction assignments with skill, speed, and a can-do, solution-oriented attitude. Founded in 1962, the company has and grown from a three-man crane service to a regional force in the marine, heavy construction and pile-driving industries. West Coast Contractors has continually exceeded the expectations of large and small clients alike in projects ranging from ocean-whipped marine installations to breathtaking bridgework. West Coast Contractors along with co-contractor Andersen Construction recently completed the construction of the NOAA Marine Facility in Newport, OR. The landmark maritime project includes berths for four NOAA ships, two visiting vessels and a high-tech administration building featuring advanced weather forecasting equipment. The award of the project to Newport was a major achievement for not only West Coast Contractors but for the area as well as it has provided a significant boost to the local economy.

Kronsteiner has run West Coast Contractors with unparalleled business persuasiveness for almost 30 years, and has led his team in the deployment of new technology including the proprietary Project Control System (PCS) that ensures effective job planning and execution.
