The recruitment landscape in Vietnam in 2019 remained strong as the country received international investment and looked forward to reaching new heights. More companies started to relocate their factories to Vietnam amidst the US-China trade tensions. New factory set-up required a lot more Production and Quality Management professionals to ramp up their production capacity. Plant manager can get up to 350 million with over 10 years of experience. The position of HR manager for factories has also increased significantly, along with production personnel with a salary of up to 140 million. In other industries, HRBP is in high demand with a salary of up to 130 million.

The tech sector also enjoyed rapid growth as businesses across industries continued accelerating their digital transformation and adopting new technologies, especially within the Business Intelligence (BI) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) space. With the gradual shift towards a high-tech economy coupled with a lack of digital talents, tech talent will continue to be sought after. The salary for a CIO position with 10 years of experience ranges from 190 - 300 million, an increase of more than 40 million compared to 2019. Positions like software engineer and software architect with rich experience can receive 100 million per month.

In the financial sector, many banks are undergoing a strong digital transformation, especially in Hanoi, leading to an increase in demand for experts in Digital Banking and Business Process, along with a need for machine learning. , Financial Programming, AI. Meanwhile, in Ho Chi Minh City still thirst for senior positions such as CFO with a relatively high salary of nearly 400 million, and so do the Costing Manager.

The FMCG industry has significant wage changes in Ho Chi Minh City with senior roles. CEO salaries increased from 400 million last year to 450 million with those over 15 years of experience. Sales managers are paid between 100 and 220 million and marketing managers are paid between 100 and 180 million, an increase of more than 10% compared to 2019.

For the service industry, the demand for middle management positions also increased by more than 28%, accompanied by the requirement of industry knowledge and communication, foreign language, finance and technology skills.
