Press release from: Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park

Container with donations from the first phase of the charity drive has arrived after a two month voyage prolonged by a tanker breakdown at the port in the state capital of Mozambique Maputo.

The cargo ship carrying the container arrived at the Mozambican port on Thursday September 1st, 2011 in the morning hours. Following its long voyage the container will now go through customs control and will be received by one of the members of the Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park, who will accompany it on its further voyage.

During the course of a week the items will be loaded onto a truck and delivered to the residents of Mavue. All donations will be handed out by the representatives of the Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park under the patronage of Gaza Province Administrator and Gaza Province representatives in Mavue and its surrounding villages.

Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park spans across Mozambique and is one of the largest private African parks. It neighbors and fluently ties into the Gonarezhou National Park in Zimbabwe. The primary objective for the Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park is to protect the natural wealth preserved in the area that is practically untouched by humans. Another integral activity of this park is a sensitive, sustainable and long term development of local communities.
