Actovegin and other NYCOMED products called the medicines of the year at PANACEA-2011annual pharmaceutical contest

On September 8, 2011 the solemn awarding ceremony of Ukrainian contest for pharmaceutical professionals PANACEA-2011 took place. The medicinal products Actovegin, Calcium D3 Nycomed, Concor and Cardiomagnyl produced by Nycomed are called the winners in their groups in the nomination “The Medicines of the Year”. Moreover, Nycomed was recognized as the best in the nomination “Foreign fast-growing company”.

“These awards of Panacea are the proof of company recognition – first of all, it is the consumers and partners acceptance. The massive research preceding the determination of winners clearly shows the contest objectivity and independence. This year Nycomed won in five categories, four of our medicinal products have been called the best in their groups. I’m really glad that they are the panacea for many Ukrainians”, Eugeniy Zayika, the head of Nycomed representative office in Ukraine, remarked.

The sincere congratulations to winners of Panacea-2011 contest have been expressed by the Head of Committee on Public Health of Verkhovna Rada (Supreme Council) of Ukraine, Tatyana Bakhteyeva; the Minister of Public Health of Ukraine Aleksandr Anischenko and the Chairman of State Administration of Ukraine for Medicinal Products Aleksey Soloviov.

Panacea is a professional award; its winners are determined according to complex marketing research. Panacea contest covers the territory of the whole country, including the most remote regions of Ukraine. For more than 12 years Panacea has been the main event for the pharmaceutical society and the communication platform of the field. The winners are defined out of analytical studies held in the course of year by the companies Business Credit, Comcon Pharma Ukraine, SMD, MDM and the international marketing company MASMI UKRAINE.

The researches of medicinal products are held according to groups of ATC international classification. The determination of winners of “The Medicines of the Year” nomination is based on such criteria: product market share in its segment; growth dynamics of retail sales; importance of medicine in drugstore product mix; quality-price ratio; product advertising support; frequency of doctors’ prescriptions and pharmacists’ references.
