Master printmaker launches major new art resource online

Press release from: Bloodstone

In a move designed to offer art buyers, art lovers and art students access to the work of major artists from around the world, The Print Studio in Cambridge, England, has launched a new website where visitors can see and buy the work of over 60 artists, discover the background of the artists, and learn about the screenprinting process with online videos.

Led by master printmaker and artist, Kip Gresham, The Print Studio has been trusted by artists, galleries and publishers for over a decade to create original prints that are exhibited and held by virtually every major art collection worldwide.
Kip Gresham himself has been a master printmaker for over thirty years and is a renowned figure in the printmaking world. He is often called upon by universities, colleges, galleries and other art institutions to lecture about printmaking, both in the United Kingdom and internationally.

The new Print Studio website gives visitors across the globe unique access to a portfolio of work, much of which is for sale, featuring artists such as William Boepple, Michael Brick, Alan Davie, John McLean and David Rayson.

“We want to give lovers of art the opportunity to look at, study, compare and even buy original art online,” says Kip Gresham. “We’re fortunate to work with many of the artists who contribute to, enliven and advance the art world. Visitors can now see the result of ten years’ work, and enjoy access to the same collections admired and invested in by major art collections.”

The various printmaking processes used by the studio are delivered through a collaborative relationship. This involves artists working closely with the studio to create original work in limited editions, some of which sell for thousands of pounds.

As well as viewing hundreds of pieces of work online, visitors to the site can see how the screenprinting process works through a selection of video tutorials, and find out everything they ever wanted to know about original prints, limited editions and printmaking.

“We’re lucky enough to create original, inspiring and often deeply moving art every day,” Kip Gresham adds. “Our new website demonstrates that.”

Created by award-winning web designer, Susie Hinchliffe, the website can be found at www.theprintstudio.co.uk.

The Print Studio is a professional collaborative printmaking studio & publisher. We work with individual artists, publishers and galleries from many parts of the world; the outreach is truly international. The staff are passionate about the potential of the printed mark. The work is the product of a collaborative relationship in which an artist works in tandem with the printers. The proofing is an exploratory process without frontiers; experimentation and invention are the name of the game. Combinations of media, additional hand-applied elements and innovative techniques are encouraged. Only the very best materials, papers and inks are used.
