WebMate goes Green with carbon neutral web hosting

WebMate, the multi-award-winning internet service provider, has announced it's realised it's two-year commitment to the environment and become 100% carbon neutral. As an ISP who runs three datacentres presences in the UK, it's worked hard to reduce its carbon footprint by installing more efficient heating and cooling solutions to its offices, upgrading it's servers to use low power SSD hard drives, fitted LED lighting throughout its premises and committed to using a BMW i3 as a pool car for executive and engineer travel. This achieved a 50% reduction in carbon usage over a 2 year period. In addition, sourcing 30% of it's total energy from renewable sources and offsetting the remaining of its carbon footprint by pruchasing carbon credits. Carbon credits help with projects aorund the world like planting trees, hydro electric projects and replacing cooking stoves in third-world villages.
