Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program Extends nomination allocation

11/12/2018, New Delhi: The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program has declared on last Thursday 6th Dec 2018 wherein the provincial govt. has decided to increase the nomination allocation for 2018.

Ontario Immigration Department has stated, " Please be advised that the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program has received an increase to its 2018 nomination allocation. The program will continue to process applications and issue nominations until the increased allocation is fulfilled. Any applications submitted that exceed the OINP’s nomination allocation increase will be processed. If approved, you will be nominated in 2019 and you will be notified at that time."

Earlier this month, Ontario had come up with an update that Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program has reached its nomination cap but the recent immigration update clearly indicates the increase in nomination cap for the year of 2018. In simple terms, Ontario is still accepting the applications and willing to grant the nominations until the new cap is reached.

This year has been fruitful for all the new immigrants as the Ontario govt has granted the nominations for a total of 6411 applications. In a nutshell, those who were nominated by Ontario will receive the additional points of 600 against their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score and march towards the Invitation to Apply for Canadian permanent residence.

In the last three draws, Ontario has witnessed the significant fall in the minimum required CRS score from 400 to 350. The OINP has broken the barbwire to move away from the fixed minimum CRS score of 400 for the HCP Stream and the minimum score for future HCP invitation rounds will be determined by the director of the OINP.

Ontario Human Capital Priorities Stream is an immigration category introduced for prospective skilled immigrants who are skilled and experienced enough to live and work in the province.

Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program Requirements:
• The candidate must register an Expression of Interest (EOI) in the Express Entry pool.
• Must score at least score 400 CRS points or more to apply for the program in the Express Entry System.
• The candidate must have two or more than two years of experience of working in the NOC occupation in the five years prior to the date of application submission.
• Must have a valid Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree or any equivalent degree from a reputed college/university/educational institution. Also, candidates are required to get their educational qualifications assessed from WES to meet the necessary guidelines of CIC, Govt. of Canada.
• Candidates must qualify the IELTS exam with the minimum scores of CLB7 in all four categories, including listening, reading, speaking, and writing.
