Panchkarma is an Ayurvedic treatment for eliminating toxic substances from the human body. It is also a means to re-establish the balance between the doshas – Vata, Pitta and Kapha. The word ‘panch’ means five and ‘karma’ means action, which together means a five-pronged action planfor Ayurvedic treatment. The purification process under panchkarma is achieved through a combination of five different methods, namely, emesis (vaman karma), purgation (virechana karma), enema (vasti karma), errhines (nasya karma), and bloodletting (raktamokshana). The combination of these five is called Panchkarma. The purpose of these five is to remove the toxic substances from your body and make you healthy.

As per Ayurveda, stress is one of the worst enemies of human health. Stress causes the release of a hormone called cortisol, which can impact out health. Cortisol is okay for limited durations, but if you experience stress over continued periods, the cumulative effects of cortisol can lead to various problems. Release of cortisol over extended periods can cause heart disease, indigestion, weight gain, anxiety, depression, headaches, insomnia, etc.

Stress is also harmful for your bowels or gastrointestinal tract. Due to imbalance in the gastrointestinal tract, inflammation occurs and digestive action is affected. Due to swelling in the digestive tract, the waste material starts accumulating in your body and the body begins to suffer from toxins. Along with this, many other types of diseases may be triggered.

Panchkarma is an effective way to remove the toxins from your body. It will reboot your body to its healthy state and make it more active. When toxic substances are removed from the body, you naturally start feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Your energy levels improve dramatically and you are able to focus and think clearly. By strengthening your digestion process, Panchkarma works naturally to expel the toxic substances from your body. Panchkarma removes waste materials from various parts of the body such as lungs, bladder, sweat glands, stomach and intestines.
