OktaLine ATEX, ASM 340 leak detector and the PrismaPro® quadrupole mass spectrometer by Pfeiffer Vacuum

OktaLine ATEX, ASM 340 leak detector and the PrismaPro® quadrupole mass spectrometer by Pfeiffer Vacuum

• Magnetically coupled and ATEX certified Roots pumps
• ASM 340 leak detector
• Quadrupole mass spectrometer PrismaPro®

ACHEMA, Germany, 2018. Pfeiffer Vacuum, a leading global supplier of vacuum technology, presents vacuum solutions for the chemical industry at the ACHEMA in Frankfurt from June 11 to June 15.

Magnetically coupled and ATEX certified Roots pumps: Safe solution for high vacuum requirements in chemical industry
Pfeiffer Vacuum introduces ATEX certified Roots pumps with a magnetic coupling to the vacuum market. Vacuum pumps in the OktaLine ATEX series are ideal for processes in explosive areas or for evacuating explosive gases according to the ATEX directive (2014/34/EU): in chemical and process technology applications, industrial applications, coating, the semiconductor industry and research & development. Depending on the application, clients can choose between equipment category 2 and 3. All pumps are suitable for temperature class T3. The magnetic coupling was a major contribution to the existing tried and tested Roots pumps. These hermetically sealed pumps have very low leakage rates of less than 1 • 10^-6 Pa m^3/s.
Due to the magnetic coupling, it was possible to omit the shaft sealing rings, which are inherent weak points when pressure surges occur and are also high-maintenance. Pumps in the OktaLine ATEX series are resistant to pressure surges of up to 1,600 kPa. In addition, use of the magnetic coupling prevents a gas exchange between process related internal and external atmosphere.

ASM 340 leak detector: Optimized operating costs with targeted leak detection
The compact leak detector can be used in serial production as well as for maintenance tasks. It is available in a conventional or an oil-free version. Both qualitative localization of leaks and quantitative integral or local inspection are possible with the ASM 340 leak detector. It impresses with its efficient vacuum system, which guarantees that it is ready for operation very quickly. Furthermore, it distinguishes itself with a fast response time due to the right helium pumping speed. These features lead to a short cycle time and high throughput. The ASM 340 is the only leak detector in its class on the market that is capable of locating leaks starting at 100 hPa.

Quadrupole mass spectrometer PrismaPro®: Process control with mass spectrometer solutions
With the PrismaPro, Pfeiffer Vacuum offers a quadrupole mass spectrometer for both qualitative and quantitative gas analysis as well as leak detection. The PrismaPro features a distinctive combination of high sensitivity, maximum stability, and intelligent operation. In daily operation, the user will benefit from its robust, compact design, and its easy system integration. Because of its selection options for mass ranges, detectors, ion sources, filament materials, and integrated interface options, the PrismaPro can be applied in different industrial environments. For use in quality assurance or residual gas analysis, the PrismaPro is the ideal solution. The PrismaPro produces precise measurements with a detection limit of up to 3E-15 hPa. Depending on the application, one can choose between 1-100, 1-200 or 1-300 amu. The smallest contaminations in a vacuum system can be detected in a minimum of time using Faraday detectors or secondary electron multipliers.
