Analytiqa: Logistics Bulletin: Friday 16th March

This week's Logistics Bulletin reports on further consolidation amongst service providers, record financial results, contract wins and distribution centre developments. Kuehne + Nagel has reported a highly successful business year. Organic growth and the successful integration of the ACR Group increased turnover by 29.5% in 2006, as the operational result (EBITDA) improved by 52.3%. Also reporting strong results this week was Panalpina. The Company's asset-light business model saw increased transported tonnages and volumes in both air freight (+10.5%) and ocean freight (+17.4%), exceeding the respective market growth rates, as net forwarding revenue grew by 11.3%.

In contract news, CEVA Logistics has further strengthened its position in logistics for the Industrial sector in Western Europe by signing a five year contract with Rolls-Royce Marine AS - Diesels whilst Amtrak has been awarded a new three year, multi-million pound contract with Kleeneze, a leading home shopping business. Retailers are making supply chain headlines this week, with developments at Tesco, Marks & Spencer, JCPenney, HMV and Monsoon.

Norbert Dentressangle forecasts up to 8.0% growth for 2007

15 March 2007 - Further to the release of its 2006 results on 31 January, Norbert Dentressangle has outlined its expectations for 2007. Norbert Dentressangle Group is expecting revenue growth of between 6.0% and 8.0% on a like-for-like basis in 2007 and an increase in operating income on the 4.3% achieved in 2006.

Norbert Dentressangle posted good results for 2006. The Group strengthened its international position with two targeted acquisitions, the Romanian transport company, Transcondor, and the Spanish logistics company, CCH. Organic growth was strong in Central and Eastern Europe, as was demand from clients for international transport and logistics.

Transport activities posted sustained growth of 12.3%. Operating income rose sharply to 5.0 % of revenue and to 3.6% excluding the VAT refund on motorway tolls, compared to 2.9% in 2005. The Group also confirmed its position as a transport solution provider on a European scale. Contractual revenue accounted for 52.0% of Transport activities.

Logistics activities increased by 19.5% with organic growth of 5.5%, rising to 7.1% over the fourth quarter. Operating income, which was up on 2005, reached 5.5% of revenue and included a provision for the integration of activities from TNT Logistics France.
