Thorlabs catalogue now lists SPA™ aspherical axicons
Jena, - October 2009: After a successful listing of asphericons standard precision line (asphericon SPA™) in the 2007 Thorlabs catalogue, both partners now enlarge and improve customer’s choice.
In the Thorlabs V20 (published October 2010) aspherical axicons from asphericon are added to the already existing assortment.
asphericon SPA™ axicons also known as rotationally symmetric prisms cover two primary functions. First, axicons create long regions of focus along the optical axis to produce a non diffractive Bessel beam. This extracted line focus has important use for optical system alignment and other demanding applications. The second function of axicons is to convert a parallel laser beam into a circular image which is used for a wide range of research and laser applications.
Customized axicons, produced since many years and in consistently large numbers of shapes, sizes and materials, provide a basis for the new series of SPA™ Axicons. All SPA™ axicons are directly available from stock and can be an ideal solution for many needs, or a quick way of testing a concept and developing the perfect customized lens.
