Hillsides is the Winner at the Guild ‘A Day at the Races’ Fundraiser

The annual Guild “A Day at the Races” fundraiser held on Sunday, April 27 was an across-the-board success for Hillsides. Supporters of the Pasadena-headquartered charity raised more than $12,500 for the agency while enjoying a beautiful day at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, CA.
The event was organized by the Hillsides Guild, a volunteer arm of the charity that has been in existence since 1987. More than 110 fans of Hillsides and horse racing attended. Guests paid $110 per ticket that included valet parking, a racing program, and lunch with a personal television in the stadium’s Frontrunner Restaurant.
“A Day at the Races” also featured a silent auction and a raffle. No matter how well guests’ horses fared during the day, this ensured that everyone had a shot to go home a winner.
All proceeds from the event benefit the children, youth, and families of Hillsides.
The event was dedicated to the memory of two long-time supporters of “A Day at the Races,” Peggy Dienst and Denise Greenawalt.
The Hillsides Guild raises money for Hillsides and plans activities for the children who live at Hillsides. Hillsides is a premier provider dedicated to improving the well-being and overall functioning of vulnerable children, youth, and families throughout Los Angeles County. Education Center, a therapeutic residential and day school that offers individualized education for students with social-emotional, learning and/or behavioral challenges for children in kindergarten through 12th grade.
Youth Moving On, which provides former foster youth affordable quality housing and numerous support services to help them become responsible, self-sufficient adults.
