(openPR) - 'Krass Alter' means 'really cool, old man'. This famous expression is resounding along Lake Zelll. 'Die sehen ja voll korrekt aus' might be translated by 'these people look very trendy'. One might wonder where the unconventional phrases come from that onlookers can hear quite clearly at Thumersbach Lido early in the morning. For a little moment all is quiet. Then there is another shout, this time coming from two dialect-coloured voices at the same time. 'Geil, Bunnies!' The addressee of this new jaunty manifestation of joy is obviously Dorkas Kiefer. The German actress is a celebrity in the TV landscape of Austria's neighbouring country, where her admirers come from, too. They know each other well: Erkan and Stefan, the silly comedian duo from Bavaria, are getting everybody in a party mood.
For this year's ONE Dragon Boat Cup, they stood side by side in their typical jogging suits, white towels round their shoulders, their rapper's hat on their heads. On their breasts they were sporting golden chains showing their names. For their performance in the 'Europa-Sportregion Zell am See-Kaprun', the actors kept to their usual mixture of Turkish and German slang. And it went down well with the audience: the members of the 24 teams that participated in the first round races to qualify for the final on 8th July visibly enjoyed the two comedians' act.
The TV stars had not come to the heart of Pinzgau just for a holiday: Apart from the comedians, Lisa Fitz, Sascha Wussow, Max Tidof and Werner Böhm all went to paddle in the metre-long waterborne vehicles. They were competing for some important points for the so-called 'Großer Grenzverkehr', 'Heavy Border Traffic', the traditional vintage car rally across the Alps. The event in the unusually wobbly boats posed some real difficulties for most of the stars.
Austria's political and business elite was slightly more successful: Hans Wallner, managing director of Europa-Sportregion Marketing GmbH, Ferdinand Eder, chairman of Schmittenhöhebahn AG, and Kaprun's mayor Norbert Karlsböck were three renowned representatives of the region who took part in the races. They cut a fine figure in the sporty duel with other high-calibre boat crews. But only the teams of 'Freaks On Tour' of FOT Events & Incentives and 'La Karamba Resistance' of the Zell bar of that same name were able to secure tickets for the finals on Lake Wörth. Injoy fitness centre managed a cold start in the fun scoring which also earned them a place in the finals at Velden.
But not the fastest teams only were awarded prizes. The judges also thought that the most creative outfit was worth a prize: it went to the team of 'SALK Rennschnecken', the 'racing snails' of Salzburg Regional Hospital. And the hospital staff was even more pleased with the above-mentioned compliment they got from Erkan and Stefan, 'Krass Alter, die sehen ja voll korrekt aus.'
