Patient Comfort Systems introduces new antimicrobial positioners
Press release from: Patient Comfort Systems
(openPR) - Newark, CA. 04, September, 2009-Patient Comfort Systems announces the introduction of new positioner pads for all MRI, CT, PET, and Nuclear Medicine systems. These new products were created in part to address patient comfort and the growing threats of infections spread by contact, which includes aggressive antibiotic resistant bacteria, such as MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus).
Traditional pad sets generate regions of high pressure and shunt blood flow away from areas of the body, creating ischemic discomfort. Frequent patient movements result in the repetition of all or parts of the study due to motion artifact. By contrast, the new Patient Comfort Systems pads utilize advanced pressure managing visco-elastic materials that conform to the body and deliver a more comfortable exam with a significant decrease in patient movement.
To maximize infection control, Patient Comfort Systems pads incorporate ultra-strong fabrics along with seams that are reinforced with coated nylon threads. This construction prevents cracking and tearing, especially at the corners where exposure is the greatest. Patient Comfort Systems pads also contain a permanent antimicrobial agent to inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria. The moisture-impervious fabrics do not allow fluids to pass through and it can be cleaned with any standard approved hospital disinfectant.
Wendy Ramsey- Inland Neurosurgery & Spine Associate P.S. (Spokane WA.) states “They are Wonderful! The patients are so much more comfortable. The patients that come in every few months have really noticed the change. The clean up well and they are more “slippery”- sliding patients around on their backs is much easier. From all of the technologists and patients- Thank You!”
Cathy Kruger -Imaging Solutions Inc. (Fargo ND.) states “I am happy with our recent purchases of Patient Comfort Systems products. We know that medical imaging can be stressful on the patient; therefore our number one goal is to reduce their anxiety and to make their imaging experience a positive one. Many patients have commented on how comfortable the pads are plus I have the added comfort of knowing that I am reducing the potential to spread germs since the materials used contain permanent antimicrobial agents.”

Comments about openPR
OpenPR ist the nicest and most clearly laid out PR platform I have seen to this day. The press releases are displayed very nicely and clearly and without any unnecessary frills.
The updates are fast and the finished release looks appealing and is clearly legible.
Even with 16 years of experience one discovers new things from time to time.
Congratulations!
