(openPR) - Mercury Computer Systems has selected the Wind River Platform for Network Equipment, Linux Edition (PNE-LE) for its Ensemble2 AdvancedTCA-based application platform. Mercury’s Ensemble2 is a standards-based system that allows developers to develop, evaluate and deploy their applications on the same platform. Wind River’s Platform for Network Equipment, Linux Edition provides a commercial-grade quality Carrier Grade Linux (CGL) platform and enables developers to standardize on a single development suite for all device software projects. It integrates with many of the industry's most popular telecommunications boards, making it an ideal fit for the telecommunications and high-end data networking markets. PNE-LE supports the emerging PICMG 3.x ATCA specification and various high-availability functions, and includes a standards-based interprocess communication (IPC) mechanism that connects the Linux and VxWorks editions of the platform.
