Press release from: Managing Editor Inc.

Jenkintown, PA (July 21, 2009) — Managing Editor Inc. (MEI), an Adobe premier development partner and a leading provider of software solutions for the publishing industry, today announced the release of the Integrated Production Suite 4.6, the latest version of the powerful collection of MEI products for enterprise publishers.

Thanks to these updates, users of IPS 4.6 will enjoy improved performance and compatibility with the latest versions of design applications.

* IPS’s Macintosh components — including IPS AdTrac™, Mac File Agent and Doc Server — now run natively on the Intel processor, for measurable performance improvements. (The minimum operating system to support the Macintosh components is OS X 10.5.5.)
* IPS 4.6 now seamlessly supports Adobe® InDesign® CS4 and QuarkXPress® 8.0 for design and Suitcase Fusion 2 for font management.
* Other updates include enhanced AdTrac and WebTrac performance.

IPS is used in demanding multi-site operations to streamline and distribute all facets of ad and page production. Its powerful components work through the IPS Engine, which blends standards-based technology with innovative design to create a scalable architecture for one publication or 100.

The Integrated Production Suite includes:

Page Director Ad Layout System (ALS). The complete issue-planning and ad-layout system that provides powerful issue management tools, flexible integration with ad booking, built-in dynamic conflict management, complete integration with digital ads and the ability to scale to specific publication size and workflow.

IPS AdTrac Ad Tracking System. AdTrac offers powerful, collaborative ad workflow management with complete tracking of the ad-production process, including advanced deadline controls, standard architecture, flexible integration, automation tools and quick return on investment.

WebTrac. The Web-based ad-tracking client has all the ad-management functionality of the AdTrac Manager Client, accessible via a browser.

QuickLink. This tool provides editorial user authentication, associates editorial pages with issues and ads from the database and dynamically updates page content to reflect ad changes in the database.

AdView/PageView. AdView gives advertisers personalized attention through soft proofing. Advertisers log in over the Web and see digital previews of their ads. With PageView, MEI’s status-review tool, managers, editors and other authorized staff can check the status of pages in real time.
