United Way Matches In-Kind Donation from Mecca Design & Production, Inc. for Farmers Assisting Returning Military in Dallas

Dallas, TX – Mecca Design & Production is helping Farmers Assisting Returning Military (F.A.R.M.) to continue to grow and help veterans through an in-kind donation, while matching funds by the United Way in Dallas, and “the power of community” join forces. Army veterans Steve Smith and James Jeffers founded Eat the Yard in 2012 with the help of Farmers Veteran Coalition. Further wanting to find a way to help returning military to integrate into civilian life through farm life, they started the F.A.R.M., a nonprofit that depends on community involvement, like donations from Mecca Design & Production, to meet their goals and aid in building their farm and garden “dirt therapy” locations and more for returning military. Long-time supporters of Mr. Smith, Mr. Jeffers and F.A.R.M, Mecca Design & Production, a custom exhibit fabrication company, is donating a 10 ft. x 30 ft. tent structure and stage platforming. In addition, Mecca employees loaded and delivered a bobtail with crates and flat walls, fencing components, and picnic tables. F.A.R.M. will be able to utilize these items for development of their new spaces, and United Way will generously donate matching funds ($4,300.00) for the in-kind donations. F.A.R.M. is currently building a new farm and community just south of Dallas, and a special Eat the Yard garden project in downtown Dallas at the Dallas Farmers Market. They are a valuable resource for the veterans and the community.
According to F.A.R.M.’s co-founder, Stephen Smith, “Mecca continues to surprise us with their generous support. In-kind donations are very important to our cause. Mecca always finds a way to step up.”
