(openPR) - Rio de Janeiro – The global law firm of Thompson & Knight LLP, through its affiliated office Tauil & Chequer Advogados, is pleased to announce the continued expansion of its Intellectual Property (“IP”) Practice Group with the addition of Associate Marcelle Franco Espíndola in the Firm’s Rio de Janeiro office. Espíndola joins Evelyn Uliana Montellano in Brazil to strengthen Thompson & Knight’s thriving and rapidly expanding IP practice comprised of attorneys from six of the Firm’s global offices.

Espíndola focuses her practice primarily on intellectual property litigation, including patent and trade secrets litigation, copyright, internet issues, domain names, software, and licensing, as well as advisory work. Prior to joining Thompson & Knight, she served as an Associate at the Brazilian IP law firm of Montaury Pimenta, Machado & Lioce. Espíndola received her Bachelor of Law (J.D. equivalent) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) Law School in 2005. She is fluent in Portuguese, English, and Spanish.
