(openPR) - Despite slowing economy and capacity reductions, AerFinance plc plans to acquire various business aviation operators within Europe. Already now AerFinance plc is the owner of one of the first Air Taxi operator in Poland which recently received the European license to conduct commercial passenger flights throughout Europe. Direct Fly will form the basis for consolidation in this market, will bring cost down as well as strengthen negotiations with aircraft manufacturers and the awareness for customers.
Consolidation will lower the fixed and operational cost significantly and will increase service for customers.
According to Eurocontrol, the European Air Navigation agency, the business aviation sector represents 700-1000 companies. Nearly 85 % of these operators operate fewer than five aircraft in their fleet. Due to ecomonic slow down in Europe, most of small and medium operators may not be able to continue operating.
Consolidataion of the market will lower fix costs per plane, optimize fleet utilization and will strenhed negotiation position towards key suppliers and leasing companies.
AerFinance PLC acquired in April 2008 the air operator – Direct Fly. After successful reorganization and restructurisation Direct Fly has become Poland’s first true air taxi operator now expanding also to other European countries with a fleet of Diamond DA-42 Twin Star.
AerFinance plc is a public listed holding company with main focus on the aviation market. The Company became first listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (symbol 3LV) in February 2008
