2009 marks the bicentennial of the birth of America's greatest president - Abraham Lincoln. As we celebrate his birth, we also commemorate his sublime acheivement - leading us through a civil war, preserving the Union, and ending slavery. From his humble birth to his rise to greatness, his story has captivated and inspired us. He is a man of the ages, but more important, he was and is one of us.

Join Lincoln scholar, John C. Waugh, author of One Man Great Enough: Abraham Lincoln's Road to Civil War, from May 1- 10, 2009 as he travels the route from Springfield, IL to Washington, DC to be inaugurated President of the United States. This journey will relive the president-elect's journey, traveling the same route, stopping in the same towns, in the same seven states where he stopped. On arrival in Washington, DC the president will join us for an inaugural celebration at the famed Willard Hotel and visit the memorial dedicated to him where he will give his inaugural address.
