(openPR) - new development for picking up rimmed objects
roTeg AG developed a solution for picking up rimmed objects without any loading of the lid by gripping under the rim. The gripper is constructed according to a newly registered design and works in a material-sparing and process-proof way. Three gripping fingers pick up the object by the underside of the object rim by means of laterally inward-turning support planes.
The palletising of buckets or pails is often not possible by means of customary vacuum-suction devices. Seizing this type of package by its lid is difficult due to its weight and often has to be avoided in order to not accidentally open the package by lifting its lid.
The advantage of a possible placement from above remains with the new gripper type since the solution developed by roTeg holds the packages by means of eccentric fingers. The gripping fingers are mounted on three arms and are adjustable to various diameters in two variants, either manually or automatically.
The laterally inward-turning support planes pick up the object by gripping under its rim so it can be palletised in a material-sparing way.
This method is of advantage for the creation of dense layer patterns and is extremely process proof since the package is reliably locked in the gripper.
