(openPR) - Minicom Advanced Systems, a leading provider of audio/video distribution systems for digital signage installations, revealed that one of the largest digital signage installations in Israel uses Minicom’s video distribution system to deliver content to shoppers.
The James Richardson duty free shop at Tel Aviv’s new airport terminal uses 26 of Minicom’s Video Display Systems narrowcasting to 63 50”plasma screens places around the store.
Some of the signs are used to inform shoppers about custom regulations and to publish monetary conversion rates, but most of the digital signage system is dedicated to Point of Purchase (POP) advertising. POP is not new, but the digital version tends to attract more attention and can increase sales anywhere between 30% and 100%, depending on the item.
"The right video distribution system can amplify the power of the in store digital advertising, by bringing your message to shoppers in the aisles or queuing up at the cashier, said Eran Kessel, Minicom’s Vice President of Marketing.
“Our video-over-CAT5 distribution system allows for a very high ratio of screens per source of content and is designed to scale up to large digital signage installations like the one in the James Richardson store. With digital signage prices still just out of reach for most retails stores, we are the integrator’s best friend,” he added.
Ran Shapira, the project integrator, chose Minicom because of its superior price/performance ratio. “Minicom’s Video Display System distribution units had eight RJ45 outlets, double and even quadruple what the competition offered,” noted Ran. “When you are piecing together a project of this size, the numbers really start to add up. Minicom simply provided the most performance for the best value.”
