(openPR) - The Famous Pacific Shipping group is enhancing its presence in the Czech Republic with the appointment of a general agent to serve the buoyant marketplace.
FPS Prague s.r.o. Ltd has been established by FPS Rotterdam, the exclusive Group Member of the Famous Pacific Shipping network for the Netherlands.
The core activity of FPS Prague will be to grow import and export cargo for the global forwarder’s international oceanfreight consolidation services to and from the Czech Republic through ports in northern Europe.
The agency is headed by Mr Thomas Kovanda, FPS Prague Director, supported by Ms Jana Soukupova as Administration Manager.
With its strategic location between Germany, Austria, Slovakia and Poland, the Czech Republic is currently enjoying bullish freight activity on the back of an economy which has boomed since the country joined the EU in May 2004. The economy is forecast to grow by around 5% annually until 2011.
