(openPR) - With effect from June 1, 2008, the consulting division of the management consultancy ITA Logistics GmbH has become a subsidiary company under the name ITA Consulting GmbH. The management has been extended to include Peter Weber as the first partner and managing director. The company base remains in Hamburg and all previous contact details stay the same.
The formation of ITA Consulting GmbH is due to the excellent development in recent years of the consulting business of ITA Logistics GmbH, which is specialised in the logistics sector. A large number of projects in the areas of M&A, Business Intelligence and Supply Chain Management contributed to this success. ITA Consulting GmbH has been set up as a commercial partnership and incorporates the management consulting, IT solutions and market intelligence (CEP-Research) business units.
Peter Weber (40) has been appointed as managing director of ITA Consulting and joins the two founding partners Mark and Boris Winkelmann on its management board. Peter Weber has been with ITA since 2005 and has successfully managed the Software and IT development division of the company. He studied IT at the University of Paderborn and has held management positions with Bertelsmann Distribution and Active Logistics prior to joining the company.
ITA Logistics GmbH will in future function as the parent company of the two subsidiaries ITA Consulting GmbH and ITA Shipping GmbH (which runs the LetMeShip platform). In 2001, ITA launched LetMeShip, the first neutral e-shipping platform for sourcing and fulfillment of transport services in Europe, and in 2005 developed the news and market intelligence portal CEP-Research, specialised in the global express, parcels and postal industry.
ITA Consulting GmbH is a strongly expanding international management consultancy which is specialised in the logistics market. The medium-sized company with currently 30 employees has been active in Hamburg since 1995 and combines industry-specific management experience and consulting competence with comprehensive expertise in processes and technology.
