Emantras partners with Odyssey press to implement REED platform
Fremont CA - June 10, 2008 - Emantras, a leading digital education and learning enhancement company announced its partnership with Odyssey Press Inc. Odyssey Press, a leading digital printer will add an on-demand print option for end users of the REED platform. REED users will have the opportunity to order professional quality print versions of full edition books and journals, along with individual book chapters or journal articles.Emantras’ REED platform helps publishers create and manage digital content cost effectively, rapidly, and without having to bear the burden of a captive technology team. REED allows publishers to take advantage of true XML tagged content and exploit the various commercial options these digital technologies afford. The REED platform also provides tools to create a true learning environment. The highly secure custom reader incorporates several learning workflow features, along with collaborative tools such as blogging and instructors notes. Instructors or directors of education have the ability to deliver class notes, video, PowerPoint slides, links to courseware, and other relevant media directly to a student at the point of reference within the chapters of an e-book or e-journal.
Odyssey now offers printing service as an optional added feature to REED clients and the end user interface. Consumers can now choose to order printed copies of e-books and e-journals with a single click. Teachers can order copies for their class, resident directors can order copies of articles that they would like their medical residents to study at or use for a “Grand Rounds” presentation.
