Exeley Implements “PlumX” to Society Journals, The Most Comprehensive Metrics Product On The Market

09-26-2016 10:22 AM CET | Business, Economy, Finances, Banking & Insurance

Press release from: Exeley Inc.

Exeley Inc., a newly launched publisher of Open Access scientific journals, enters a partnership with EBSCO - Plum Analytics, provider of first altmetrics product that records all scientific output regardless of its form, providing complete data on the research produced and published.

“Online publishing tools that show immediate impact of newly published articles do not only attract authors and help to increase submission, but also deliver crucial information for societies. PlumX is a great solution complementary to Thomson Reuter’s Impact Factor and other quality metrics. It shows not only the impact quantity but also its influence on social media, blogs and news posts” – says Dawid Cecula, CEO of Exeley.

PlumX collects and presents the information in a form of a widget that is embedded directly on the article page and available to everyone. The widget represents five categories of data gathered by the product: usage, mentions, captures, social media and citations. This divergence is the single most important characteristic that differentiates PlumX from other altmetric products. The tracker collects statistics that go beyond metrics about articles, including clicks, comments, likes or views, reporting on blogs, social media posts, databases, letters, interviews, webpages and much more. Plum Analytics enables authors, editors, librarians, and scientists alike to examine the research output hosted on multiple platforms and in different versions, comparing the impact it has made.

About Plum Analytics
Plum Analytics is the first altmetrics provider offering a comprehensive product able to gather all scientific output, regardless of its form and location. In 2014 Plum Analytics was acquired by EBSCO Information Services, the leading provider of online resources for libraries, discovery and e-books databases, as well as subscription research services.

Exeley was officially launched as of the 1st of June 2016 as an innovative provider of e-publication solutions to Open Access journals and their owners. Since its commencement it has started to collaborate with a number of established European research institutions. Amongst others it has partnered with Polish AGH University of Science and Technology, Vlokh Institute of Physical Optics of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and Kaunas University of Technology, one of the largest technological universities in the Baltic States.
