Literally drawing a line under depression with The Crazy Colouring Book from the Monkeys in My Head

A warm doodly welcome to the very first "Monkeys in my head" colouring book by Peter Jarvis, The Doodle Monkey. He has been very busy creating strange, funny and interesting art for you to scribble, scrawl, and doodle on. This is the first of one hundred colouring books, with one hundred unique and crazy doodles in each, for you to colour and collect. There's no pretence, no promises and no bananas claims of zen-like qualities. It's just a mixed muddle of creative moments for you to enjoy.
All of the crazy doodling madness started in early 2011. It was then that work, life and financial pressures took its toll on Peter and he lost everything he had worked over twenty years for. After suffering his worst episode of depression, an illness he had suffered from since the age of twelve. He started creating doodle art as a way of staying centred, focused and to help him become well again,
It seemed to work. The crazy colouring books from the Monkeys in my head, are the result.
In 2013 he began to create more artistic mad, crazy black and white doodles as a way of escaping from what I was going through. It was then that he had the idea of the Doodle Monkey and The Monkeys in my head. Even though he had been through a lot of negativity in previous years, he wanted to stay positive and change his life for the better.
After getting a lot of positive comments and compliments from friends, family and the on-line community after they had seem his first ideas, he decided to start creating a series of 100 colouring books to continue my recovery and give my life a new purpose. This is the very first one.

There’s no pretence. He is not claiming his doodles have Zen like qualities, he simply wanted to create a fun colouring book you could escape into, whatever your state of mind and however you’re feeling. No rules and no pressure – go bananas!

Each printed book has been published here in the UK using ethically sourced materials. The cover is 300gsm artboard with a Matt UV protective cover. Each page is printed black and white on 100gsm bond paper which allows the use of various media including coloured pencils, crayons, and most felt tips (not sharpies) and some paints. You will have to test them first.

You can buy the books and colouring sheets direct from his website: http://www.thedoodlemonkey.com or from Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Crazy-Colouring-Book-Monkeys-Head/dp/1784563420/
He hopes you enjoy his doodles and they make your day a little doodlier.
Peter Jarvis (The Doodle Monkey).

Peter has been a Graphic Designer, Web developer and now an illustrator for over 25 years. He has just completed a FdA in Illustration and Concept Art and will be pursuing a career as a children's book illustrator.
