The "markilux 679" is a new form of solar protection for patio roofs and conservatories. The awning has a modern cubic shape, offers plenty of shade and, with LED Lines controlled by an app, ensures an attractive interplay of light on both the cover and façade of the house.

Underglass awnings are perfect for both patio roofs and conservatories. The cover, frame and mechanism of this awning type are thus particularly well protected from the weather as they are installed under the glass construction. Awning manufacturer markilux has just launched its third model, the "markilux 679". The large awning features a modern, cubic design. It has a simple, elegant look because hardly any technical connecting elements are visible.

LED Lines ensure attractive lighting effects
"We made this new underglass awning with a particularly filigree design so that it forms a harmonious unit with a glass roof," says Michael Gerling, Director of R&D and Production at markilux. Despite its lightweight look, it provides plenty of shade as a single-unit awning of up to 30 square metres with a projection of up to six metres. As with other current models from the awning specialist, light also plays a role. As an option, "LED Lines" can be integrated in the cover cassette and in the guide tracks. Equipped with a light source in RGB warm white, they create a coloured to neutral light that illuminates the fabric and façade in a subtle to atmospheric way. The LEDs are convenient to control using io radio technology with a hand-held transmitter or a special app. These can even be used to define individual light scenarios. And control by voice command is also possible.

Awning offers lots of convenient functions
In the case of the underglass awning, the cover is held firmly in the lateral side tracks using the "tracfix system". Mr Gerling explains that this ensures the cover is kept taut and is extremely stable in the wind. "This model also offers the option of equipping the front profile with the 'shadeplus' function to provide protection against intruding glare," the Director of R&D and Production adds. He also says that the new awning can be controlled with a number of different motor systems. The awning can also be operated automatically thanks to weather sensors. The "markilux 679" can also be combined with infrared heaters to ensure the solar protection can be used in the evening or also in cooler weather. The model comes in seven standard colours and is also available in special colours. The "collection one" from markilux offers a large range of fabrics and patterns for the solar protection covers.
