(openPR) - Fromdistance has started deliveries of its new device management system – Fromdistance MDM 1.60 – to its resellers and partners; the first installations to end customers took place in mid September. Already prior to the new version, Fromdistance has offered the most advanced management tools for mobile devices – including remote desktop access to smartphones, leading application and device management as well as file transfers and synchronisations.
The new Fromdistance MDM version expands device support from Nokia smartphones and Windows Mobile devices to PC Windows (XP & Vista) devices. Furthermore, Fromdistance MDM 1.60 is the first device management solution with support for OMA DM (Open Mobile Alliance Device management) commands as part of a comprehensive device management framework. “In line with its original purpose, OMA DM with its extensions is a good way to change settings on mobile devices. However, in enterprise environment device management is much more than that, requiring a broader management framework. Fromdistance MDM offers customers an easy way to benefit from OMA DM framework without having to care about its restrictions and complexity of use”, says Jouko Vierumäki, CEO of Fromdistance.
Fromdistance MDM 1.60 can be offered to end customers as service or as system installed to customer premises. The product is used by dozens of customer organisations and several resellers in Europe.
